Immersive sculpture

The 3D beaded tapestries from this immersive sculpture have been selected for the SimArts 2026 exhibition at Simard Hall, University of Ottawa.

The selected work will also be displayed on a large screen outside the building in rotation with the other exhibition pieces.

The Caretaker (2026)

The caretaker removes a tree that is blocking a pathway through the woods.

A series of roughly hewn black-and-white 35 mm prints in the style of a contact sheet. 

Emergency Snowglobe

(2025 – 2026)

Sculpture

Shown in the Frame of Mind exhibition at the Ottawa Art Gallery from April 30 – June 14, 2026. Large-scale installation.

A large yellow crocheted frame transforms two paintings into the eye of a giant Pacific octopus.

Together they depict a fictional emergency inside the octopus tank: the animals have decided to leave the planet. What remains unclear is who broke the glass—or why.

A real rock, glued to the frame, is provided in case another emergency arises.

Mixed media:

Acrylic paint on linen, IKEA frames, chicken wire, thin gauge wire, chenille yarn, cardboard, sedimentary rock, gorilla glue, E6000 glue, Sparkle Mod Podge, acrylic paint on air dry clay.

Across the Universe (2026)

This sketch from a Life Drawing Workshop was shown with Let Us Not Be Alone (the Atelier Denu group exhibition) at Nostalgia (restaurant) from March 30 – May 1, 2026.

Props to Bears Everywhere

(2025 – 2026)

Sculpture

These are some props from my Just Bears Talking bearcast (puppet show) as they were shown in the Open Gallery exhibition at Gallery 115 on campus from January 27 – February 11, 2026. 

Scale:

They are cut from index cards and construction paper, then mounted with glue and tape to wooden chopsticks. For this show they were arranged atop a plinth in a floral frog.

Costume Jewelry (2025)

Framed to 10" × 12" and shown with the Spring 2026 collection at the Royal Ottawa Hospital in the Winter Garden.

Cat Tree (2025)

This absurd drawing was shown with the Winter 2026 collection at the Royal Ottawa in the Winter Garden. Framed to 18" × 24".  

The drawing was a class project and the prompt for the drawing was to combine a plant and animal.

Cooked (2025)

My large-scale (54" × 80") dinosaur mural (cascading allegory, with 3 tiers) was shown in a class show The Mark We Make at Gallery 115 in June 2025. It was the focal point of the show.

Cooked celebrates the life (in a fresco at the top of the artwork) of a Canadian ornithomimus, by respecting its last wish to be eaten by some friends (central panel). It also foretells a significant extinction event (in the third tier) with bones and archeological implements.

Other Canadian dinosaurs in the drawing include an albertosaurus, a T-rex, a corythosaurus and a chasmosaurus.

It was inspired by a class field trip to the Museum of Nature in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Vitruvian Tick (2025)

Sculpture

Selected and shown at an excellence award banquet for University of Ottawa students, hosted at the Ottawa Art Gallery in 2025.

Mixed media:

Metal (plasma cut and welded), wood (etched by laser), acrylic paint, functional metronome.

The tick balances in a groove cut into the wood base of the sculpture. The battery-powered metronome sits on top of the base and can be moved around, outside the base, for some variety in its installation.

The life cycle of a tick is painted on the sides of the metronome in acrylic paint. A diaper is "pinned" on the larva.
